歷年來美國總統大選投票率低。加州今年有1490萬選民註冊，占加州人口78%。 與2012年總統大選相比，增加了120萬登記選民， 創下1980年以來最高紀錄。
但往往登記選民和實際的投票人口有很大差異。以2012年美國總統大選為例，登記選民中只有57%投票率。
為了鼓勵全民投票，全美344家公司，包括通用汽車、福特及Spotify音樂網站等多家公司，讓員工休假1天投票去。另外加州許多公司讓員工帶薪請假2-3小時，前往投票。
另外，沒有交通工具應不再是今年無法投票的藉口。全美UBER 優步叫車服務與網路巨人谷歌（Google）合作。一上谷歌網站就跳出「今天是選舉日」的提示功能，為你尋找最近的投票所，並且連結UBER叫車服務，回答相關問題。
UBER給首次叫車乘客20美元優惠，載你去最近的地點投票。而UBER 的競爭對手Lyft乘車服務公司，配合美國第45任總統大選，在某些城市提供45%車資優惠。
同時，Zipcar 全美短期租車公司也在全國提供7000輛汽車。從清晨6點至晚上10點，讓選民免費租車去投票。1051109
